Essex Works at Essex County Ground
On Friday we attended the Essex Works forum at the Essex County Cricket Ground in Chelmsford. We met a large number of people and there were three really good speakers.
The first was about the new Essex Bank. They're now providing loans for Small Essex Business' and if you haven't heard how they can help you you'll need to jump on the Essex County Coucil Website www.essex.gov.uk/downturn.
There was also a very informative talk about procurement and how to be in a position to win local contracts. Many queries were raised about the commercial insurance levels needed to win tenders. (We offer a top up liability scheme that may may be of help to reduce your insurance costs here! Give us a call for more information)
The final talk was about apprenticeships. The council are offering local engineering companies an apprentice that works out as a free pair of hands. Obviously the firm would need to give the apprentice on the job experience, but the council is offering to employ this person and pay for their training. They'll even pay a very large percentage of their wage! If its of interest you should give me a call for more details.
